Inspirational Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was at the top of his game during the hectic Christmas period scoring an incredible 22 points. The attacking midfielder was named Man of the Match, after smashing in two goals, as Newcastle were crushed 5-1, and picked up three assists. The league leaders demolished Bolton 3-0 on Boxing Day with Robbie Keane getting two of the goals and the Man of the Match award to score 12 points.

As Gerrard shone for Liverpool his England team-mate Frank Lampard did the same for Chelsea, scoring an astonishing 20 points. Lampard was named Man of the Match in both of Chelsea's games, even though the Blues could only draw with Fulham, having hit the back of the net on three occasions.

Robinho shrugged off the freezing conditions to put in two sensational displays for Manchester City. The Brazilian star banged in two goals and got an assist as Hull were embarrassed 5-1 and grabbed a late equaliser against Blackburn, to score 17 points. His City team-mate Stephen Ireland also hit the 17 point mark for a goal, three assists and the Man of the Match award in a virtuoso display against Hull.

West Ham moved up to 10th in the league after winning both of their games in the Christmas programme. On Boxing Day they hit Portsmouth for four as Craig Bellamy fired in two goals, and was named Man of the Match, scoring 12 points. They conceded an early goal against Stoke but came back to win 2-1, as Carlton Cole ended the Game Week with 18 points for two goals, two assists and a Man of the Match.
